The Rock

Papa…Daday…Dad…Pop…Tata…Tatay…Dadudes… These names all pertain to a person who is very important to all of us. That person may be the one “who wears the pants in the house”, the one who serves as our “maintenance man” in our homes, the one who pays our credit card bills, and the one whom we run to when our Mom’s starting to nag.
That one “significant others” in our lives is our FATHER – he may also be known as our pop, grandpa, or even our Big Bosses who serve as the head of our company.
As we annually celebrate “Father’s Day”, we are acknowledging every sacrifice, love, and hard work that our FATHER has been doing in his entire life. And most of the time, we do not seem to appreciate and understand our father. Nevertheless, once a father, always a father. Though we fail them at times, they never cease to forgive and accept us. Like the story of the Prodigal Son who has strayed and neglects his father, a Father’s instinct is always about loving and consistently caring for us.
Being a father doesn’t just stop from giving the material need of the family. They can be a good provider, but a Father’s responsibility includes the stability of the relationship of each members of the family. That’s the mere reason why he is called the Head of the Family. He’s the foundation and the rock. Whether the family is struck by difficulties or not, the father must be strong because the entire household will be very dependent on him. Even in our working environment; in our economy that experiences ups and downs, rigid competitions, the Father (or whom we also know as our heads – president, managers, supervisors) of OUR company, must stay firm, well-balanced, and wise to be able to overcome the everyday challenges that our company faces. If in our homes, it’s just their kids and their wives whom they are concerned with, in our company, it’s the ENTIRE clan – the employees and the employees' families, and so on and so forth. And so, as we celebrate Father’s Day, may we give honor to our Father, our Company Heads, and most especially our God the Father who never failed all of us.
Father’s Day is indeed celebrated by everyone. Whether our biological father have passed away, or whether or not we lost contact with them, if we just look around us, we will see that a father is in the hearts of those who have the value or the essence of fatherhood. As for me, it can even be our very own Mothers, our friends, our relatives. Let us not forget to reminisce and acknowledge our fathers who have always been guiding us in all our ways.
To all our fathers, our Company heads – President Gary Cayton, and our managers and supervisors, thank you for being the ROCK and for the strength that you are imparting to all of us. Your role in our lives is like the water that we drink and the air that we breathe. Once again, we salute you and may your lives be a blessing to more people.
